Even though I have traveled extensively, I would like to start with my own beautiful country – about my experience here. So here we start –
If you want to be overwhelmed by the beauty of nature as you hike a mountain, you have to take the dusky track in my country – New Zealand. Touted as one of the most beautiful mountains to hike, this track is for the experienced and well-equipped hikers who love the feel of nature as they take their treks. The most famous part of this track links the Lake Manapouri to Lake Hauroko. Although this is the main part of this track, people who love a bit of adventure have been known to take a detour at the Super cove. If you would like to take the entire trek, you must be prepared to trek for eight days.
Some of the marvels of nature
As already noted, this trek shows you some of the best features that nature has to offer. From u-shaped caves that were curved through glacial action in the ice-age, ice-sheets and glaciers, high basins that have since become lakes and horned peaks, this is the true definition of geography. While taking this trek, be ready to take on lots of deep mud, fallen trees and lots of river crossings.
As for the vegetation, there are lush forests with trees that rise up to 25 meters high,fuschia, pepper tree canopies and crown ferns. As if that is not enough, these forests feature one of the widest selection of forest birds thus it would be a good idea for you to carry your camera.
